Elsa Inspired Ice / Figure Skating Dress

THE SKETCH

Inspiration pic:

This is an Elsa Inspired ice skating dress. It features a light blue satin leotard with an attached iridescent and sparkly tulle skirt. White Swarvoski beads catch the light and carefully manipulate it. The pretty leotard attaches over the shoulder and laces up in the back.

I wanted to capture the sharp, stiff lines of the rosemaling on the cape and sleeves, but still have it be flowy and beautiful like her ice. I tried to make some of the cuts, especially on the skirt, jagged and a bit crooked to look like her ice sculptures.

I noticed that she had a lot of beading or ice droplets or whatever you wan to call it, so when I walked into Michael's and saw that their Swarovski beads were on clearance, I thought it would be perfect.

As you can see, between the time I drew the design back in September and actually completed it, it got changed quite a bit.

Please note that I do not skate, so I could only go on pictures of skating dresses I have seen. If you have knowledge of skating dresses, I would be glad to hear it so that if I make another skating dress, it will be more accurate.

IN PROCESS PHOTOS

The pattern was drafted, the skating dress was beaded, and it was sewn entirely by me.

I couldn't find the rest of the pics of the outfit being made, though I know I took them.

OUTFIT COMPLETE AND MODELED

I was going to show this on my doll who looks like Elsa, but decided not to so it could be a Christmas present. -__- Instead you are getting to see it on Ana. (Rebecca's cousin, a.k.a. Nicki)

I hope you like this! It was a lot of fun to make.

I like how you took the basic Elsa Frozen dress and made a new design based off of it.
